Anika Moa is a singer/songwriter who needs little introduction. She first appeared on the New Zealand music scene 6 years ago with her double-platinum album Thinking Room in 2001, featuring Anika's debut single Youthful.
Almost a year after her successful solo nationwide tour Anika Moa returns to play 2 shows in Wellington and Auckland at the end of July.
|
|
Singles such as Youthful, Good In My Head, and Falling In Love Again became massive hits and led the charge in the renewed popularity of home-grown music on NZ radio.
Anika was born in Auckland and raised in Christchurch, and
started her career when she was just 13, when she began writing songs. She writes all her songs and plays a number of instruments but is more than handy on the guitar.

|
Aside from Anika’s obvious songwriting skills, her talents are nowhere more apparent than when playing live.
Anika spent the majority of 2006 touring New Zealand, Australia and the UK returning home in late 2006 -- and soon began creating her third album to date - In Swings the Tide
She recorded the new
album at her house in Western Springs, Auckland, involving

In Swings the Tide has songs with lyrics covering topics from heartbreak & sorrow to wishful thinking, wonder and lust.
